What were the most popular websites 21 years ago?

Make sure you're adapting to the trends rather than playing "catch up"

WOW! How many people remember the websites on the left? It's amazing how a 21 year difference can such make an impact:

Some of the websites on the left were considered extremely successful and people "couldn't imagine the day that AOL would fade out" (remember all those catchy Screen Names we had?)

What's the lesson here? Everything changes. Make sure you're understanding the trends that are happening NOW and be one step ahead of everyone else. It's much harder to play "catch up" than to prepare for the future now.
