Magicians use perception strategies and psychological techniques to create new routines every day. But in my keynote, I talk about how those same concepts can benefit all of us, not just performers on a stage.
A perfect example: a group of students studied how visual illusions work and used that knowledge to design a 3D crosswalk in their school zone. The illusion made the crosswalk appear raised, which naturally caused drivers to slow down and pay closer attention.
They didn’t just learn why illusions fool the eye, but they figured out how to apply that psychology in a positive, practical way that helps keep their community safer.
Magic for the greater good.
