What does Game of Thrones and football have in common?

A genius marketing campaign developed by the Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons developed an incredible marketing campaign by integrating the award-winning television show, Game of Thrones, with the release of their new football schedule:

Watch Here

In order to release their schedule to the fans in a unique way, they decided to re-create the Game of Thrones introduction sequence, but zoomed in on different stadiums they are playing at throughout the season.

This is a great example I talk about in my keynote called "Opposite Object Method" to develop new ideas. The concept is integrating two things that have nothing to do with each other.

Here are a few other examples:

Bracelet + Clock = Watch

Telephone + Camera = iPhone

Lizard + Car Insurance = Geico

Next time you're stuck trying to develop an idea, take two random things you see near you and force yourself to integrate them together.

Better yet, have everyone on your team bring in one thing from home and put all the objects in the center of the table.

The rule is that your new product, service, or campaign must incorporate at least one of those objects.

Have fun!
